FAQ
Where the data comes from, how often it updates, and how search works.
How often does the data update?
Player counts are pulled from the official Steam API every 60 seconds, and the 24-hour peak comes from the same call. The numbers on the page refresh themselves — no need to reload.
Is the data accurate? Does it match Steam?
It matches exactly. We use the same official endpoint that powers Steam’s own “Most Played” page, with no estimation or post-processing.
Why is my number slightly different from the Steam store page?
Both sides move. Our data is cached for at most 60 seconds, so your refresh may land between two fetches, and Steam’s own page is cached too. A percent or two of difference is normal; the trend and the order of magnitude are accurate.
Why can’t I find some games?
Steam’s search matches a game’s official registered name only. If a game uses a different marketing name in your region, search by its appid instead — open its Steam store page and use the number in the URL.
How do I look up an obscure game by appid?
Open the game’s Steam store page. The URL looks like store.steampowered.com/app/730/, and 730 is the appid. Paste that number into the search box and a result tagged “By ID” will appear — click it to open the detail page.
Why do some games show a non-English name?
We always use the official Steam name and never translate it locally, so this site lines up with the Steam store page. Some publishers register a bilingual official name, and those are shown exactly as Steam has them.
Is this site affiliated with Valve?
No. This site only displays data from Steam’s public API and has no affiliation with Valve. All game names and images remain the property of their respective owners.
